The first and the largest water cum amusement part of north east India opened its gates in 2005 and with it gave wings to the long cherished dream of the people of the city to have a water park amidst them. The adrenaline pumping park has since then been one of the most desired destinations for Guwahatians and the general population of the entire north east whenever one is in the city. Some of the instant crowd magnets of the park include The Pirate Ship which is a multi level water play station, Colombia, African Pythons, Aqua Thrills and Tornado, which is a one of a kind water coaster. For people with a less adventurous appetite there’s the Sky Train, which gives the rider an aerial tour of the park, Vortex Maze and also a bumber car zone. So if you are from the region and haven’t had a first hand experience of the park, do mark your dates for the park will surely blow you away!

Almost a decade after Guwahati got its first water park, the city warmed up to more good news as Dreamland opened its gates to the city. The second amusement park of the city was inaugurated near the Koinadhara area of Khanapara in Ri Bhoi district. It is starkly different from its predecessor in the way that it boasts of a Go karting zone and a snow house apart from the usual amusement park fare. The park also has a Doll museum. The park regularly hosts poolside festivals, DJ and Karaoke nites making it a happy hunting ground for those with an eye for partyzones.

HAUNTED HOUSE, Central Mall

The newly opened Central Mall in Guwahati is a popular hang out zone for those belonging to ‘Youngistan’ and one of the prime attractions of the mall is the Haunted House situated therein. The effects and the sounds are quite scary which gives you icy cold vibes throughout your doomed walk through the house. Now, it might not be ‘pee in your pants’ scary for those with a higher threshold level for scary stuff but for kids and chickenhearts , my only advice : BEWARE!
