The victim was identified as one Nchumbeni Jami, employed as NCE at 7th NAP Bhandari.
While speaking to a reputed newspaper from the region SDPO Bhandari James Jami said that police were informed about a foul smell emanating out from the quarter that was locked from outside. When the police personnel broke open the main door, they found the body of the woman in a decomposed state. On inquest report, it was found out that the deceased was hit by a blunt object, SDPO said.
Further enquiry, revealed that she was living with a person named Samuel for the past eight months in Bhandari. However, his whereabouts is not known, Jami said. On refusal to conduct post mortem, the body was handed over to the family members.
A case has been registered under sec 302 IPC and investigation is on, he said.
