Arunachal Pradesh: Government employee accused of attempted rape

The Bellai Welfare Society (BWS) yesterday demanded exemplary punishment against a government servant who has been accused of attempting rape  on a girl in Tezu on December 1.

A case has been registered under Section 376/511/324 against Dinathso Chaitom, development officer, textile and handicraft department of Anjaw district for attempting to rape a girl who had resisted to his sexual advances.

The crime reportedly took place at the premises of the office-cum-craft centre, textile and handicraft in Tezu, Lohit district.

The BWS claimed that the accused has not been apprehended ‘despite the fact that he is a government employee.’
