On September 29, the 38-year-old woman was found murdered at her rented house in East Prashanth Nagar, Moosarambagh. According to sources, the victim was in a live-in relationship with Ikramuddin from Delhi since 2006. She used to run a thread-making unit at Chengicherla with her partner, Taqi Afsar of Malakpet. She hired seven workers from Assam for the unit.
The workers used to visit her house regularly to collect their wages. Prime accused Ameer Chan and two other juveniles, all from Assam, tried to develop a relationship with her, but she threatened them with dire consequences.
Aggrieved at her behaviour, they allegedly raped her and later, slit her throat on September 25. They fled by locking the door from outside.
During investigation, police found that three of her employees were missing since the murder. On a tip-off, Malakpet police personnel apprehended Ameer Chan of Dhubri district along with two of his aides."We had specific clues about the involvement of the three," said inspector of Malakpet Ganga Reddy . The three confessed to the crime. The knife used in committing the murder was also recovered.
