We are in 2015, where most of the countries are planning to launch Mars mission, then why there is a buzz for Moon again?

Moon Express is planning to send numerous robotic spacecraft’s created using the advanced technology which is very economical for private companies. The main aim of these spacecraft’s is to explore the moon for the elements that can be used for the betterment of human being on earth.

MX-1 first moon Lander that was demonstrated in Las Vega on Dec 5 2013, by Moon Express Inc., is capable of many applications which include sending payloads of scientific and commercial needs to Moon with at an economical cost when compared to earlier lunar spacecraft’s.
MX-1 is a “green spacecraft” which uses its own robotic technologies, state-of-the-art micro avionics and toroid shaped structure that is powered by Solar. It uses Hydrogen peroxide as a fuel for rocket. Hydrogen peroxide known as H2O2 is commonly used as a bleaching agent and disinfectant. Hydrogen Peroxide is extensively available in water, pharmacies and in biological system. The advantage of using hydrogen peroxide is the recent discovery of water on moon, which can be used as a fuel for MX-1, and will be helpful for the explorations of other various other planets in solar system.
MX-1 engine is designed to work in dual mode that makes use of kerosene as an after burner. Kerosene has the tendency to provide the escape velocity to spacecraft to leave Earth’s orbit. Second engine is the one that uses hydrogen peroxide for orbiting Earth and for taking payloads for commercial and scientific purposes.
Much lighter and small like a tea table MX-1 is a single stage lunar craft, which can reach the lunar surface from geosynchronous orbit, where all the communication satellites orbit the Earth. Apart from exploring the Moon’s surface, it can also be used for launching other miniaturized satellites for space exploration, servicing of faulty satellites and as a “space - tug”.
Moon Express will use MX-1 for the first demonstration launch, planned in 2015, after which a series of these spacecraft’s will be sent for moon mission to deliver the scientific and government payloads.
