The beautiful hill city Aizawl is Mizoram’s capital and it attracts a fair number of visitors every year. Its pleasant climate and cleanliness leaves tourists amazed. The sightseeing opportunities include nearby zoo, sanctuary, museums and temples. However, over the years Aizawl has also become an ideal place for savoring typical Mizo cuisine. The top restaurants in the city can cater to taste buds of foodies who love northeastern and other types of cuisines.

In Aizawl, you can savor a variety of regional dishes along with those that are popular in adjacent states of Mizoram. For example, the variety of Momos that you get here is quite amazing. Popular local dishes like Bai(pork and steamed vegetables) and Sawhchiar(rice cooked with meat) are a favorite with tourists exploring the city. David's Kitchen

The food is decent and their Cantonese Chowmein is a popular dish. At David’s you get Thai and Continental non- veg food along with Mizoram dishes. You may try out the smoked pork served with mustard leaves and chutney. They also serve a wide range of mocktails. Located at Chanmari-Chaltlang Road, it is open on all days though the Sunday timing is curtailed.

Curry Pot

Located next to Arini Hotel in Aizawl it is a restaurant most tourists in Aizawl visit. You can find some tasty Indian and Chinese dishes in its menu. The food price is quite moderate in this eatery. It is closed on Sundays and stays open from 10 am to 9 pm on other days.

Magnolia restaurant

Operated by Aizawl’s Hotel Regency, Magnolia restaurant is ideal for visitors looking for an eatery with an upscale and classy ambiance. The interior is clean and tastefully decorated with designer lighting.  The variety of cuisine is quite enticing. You can pick from Indian and continental dishes. There are plenty of mocktails and the staffs are really polite and courteous. Magnolia restaurant is located at Zarkawt Main Street, in Aizawl.

Blue Haven

Located opposite to Aizawl’s Millennium Centre, the Blue Haven Restaurant should be your destination when you want to savor quality dishes. For appetizers, you can order French Fries and they make it really crispy. The main dishes like paneer fried rice and chicken chowmein taste pretty good as well.

Zamzo Grill & Kitchen

Hotel Floria is among the top hotels in Mizoram’s capital city and its multi cuisine restaurant– ‘Zamzo Grill & Kitchen’ is a haven for foodies. The menu is full of diversity and there is a mocktail bar too. The dishes like Grilled fish with butter sauce, Chilli mushroom and Afghani chicken can leave you smacking your lips.
