Rangtalak Rangkau, elder brother of Nagaland chief minister T.R. Zeliang, passed away at Jalukie on Wednesday afternoon. He was serving as assistant pastor at Christian Church, Jalukie Town, till he breathed his last. He was 69. Family sources said his funeral service would be held on August 25 at 11 a.m. at chief minister’s residence, Jalukie Town.
NPF: Naga People’s Front (NPF) has expressed shock and grief at the demise of late Rangtalak Rangkau, elder brother of chief minister T.R. Zeliang. In a condolence message, NPF press bureau said the sudden and untimely demise of Rangtalak Rangkau has shocked and deeply saddened the members of NPF CEC Central Hq. Kohima Nagaland. It said members of the Central Executive Council of the NPF Central, have extended sincere condolences to the beloved wife of the deceased and their children. NPF prayed God give them strength and solace to overcome the grievous loss and departed soul rest in eternal peace.
BJP state unit: BJP, Nagaland state unit has condoled the sad demise of assistant pastor Rangtalak Rangkau and said party stood with the chief minister at this time of grief. BJP Nagaland general secretary (media), Jaangsillung Gonmei, in a press release, said the BJP state president Visasolie Lhoungu has expressed grief “on the loss of a valuable family member and pillar of strength”. BJP Nagaland prayed for the departed soul and strength for the family he has left behind.
ZBN: Zeliangrong Baudi Nagaland (ZBN) has expressed deep pain on the sudden demise of late Rangtalak Rangkau, elder brother of Nagaland chief minister T.R. Zeliang. In a condolence message, ZBN general secretary Meijiang Gonmei described late Rangtalak Rangkau as “a committed and sincere Zeliangrong leader who worked in different capacities for the uplift of peace and unity. ZBN said he was a dedicated leader who consistently supported Baudi immensely with his valuable advices and financial input being one of the founding members and also worked tirelessly for Zeliangrong people’s issue.
A God-fearing individual, ZBN said his departure was a great loss to the Zeliangrong community, adding that the Zelingrong people would treasure and value the good legacy left behind by him in the days to come.
Baudi further conveyed deepest condolences to his wife, children and relatives and prayed that God Almighty grant solace and comfort to them all and his soul rest in peace.
NPF central youth wing: Naga People’s Front (NPF) central youth wing has expressed shock at the sudden demise of late Rangtalak Rangkau, saying it was “deeply pained” for the lost of a tall leader and a humble shepherd who has been serving as assistant pastor of Christian Church Jalukie Town till his last breath. In a condolence message, NPF Central Youth Wing extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed God Almighty strengthen and comfort them.
NPF Minority Wing: Mourning the sudden demise of Rangtalak Rangkau Zeliang, the Naga People’s Front (NPF) Minority Wing Central said he was religious activist, who served as assistant Pastor of Christian Church of Jalukie.
In a condolence message, the minority wing president Bishnu Bhattacharjee extended deepest condolences to the bereaved family and prayed to Almighty God to rest the departed soul in peace.
