The world seems to be watching on excitedly as India fast becomes a major e-commerce player.
There is everything to play for in this industry, but many brands are in need of a little guidance.
This article will explore what Indian e-commerce brands can do to seize this opportunity and establish themselves, or expand their online market share.
Mr. Amit Agarwal
Mr. Amit Agarwal, Global Senior Vice President and Country Head of Amazon India, is the man behind the staggering rise of the company surpassing all the internal milestones in the Indian e-commerce market. Known for his customer obsession and outstanding business development skills, he envisages Amazon to be the most customer-centric company by transforming the online business trend in India.
It is surprising to know that the man who always aspired to become a teacher and accidently landed up in the internet business world is spearheading the expansion of the world’s largest online retailer in India’s booming e-commerce industry.
He is an Indian entrepreneur and co-founder of Ola Cabs.
Aggarwal completed a bachelor's degree in computer science and engineering at Indian Institute of Technology Bombay in 2008.
He began his career with Microsoft, where he worked for two years, and during which filed two patents and published three papers in international journals.
In January 2011 he co-founded Ola Cabs with Ankit Bhati in Mumbai.
In 2015 Aggarwal and Bhati were the youngest to be included in that year's list of richest Indians.
He awarded for corporate excellence in 2017 at ET Awards.

He is the Managing director, SAIF Partners. BTech, Indian Institute of Technology-Kanpur.
He is also the India pointsman for a firm that has, for 14 years now, been one of the most active early-stage investors in India. Gaur joined SAIF in 2006
It may be fashionable to be an early-stage investor now. It wasn’t in the middle of the last decade, around the time Deepak Gaur joined SAIF.
SAIF counts online travel company MakeMyTrip and search services firm JustDial among its successful exits, and Gaur has continued in the same vein, making big (and early) bets on online furniture seller Urban Ladder, movie and events ticketing site Bookmyshow, logistics provider Rivigo, budget accommodation start-up Treebo Hotels and food delivery site Swiggy.
He has also worked at IBM Global Services in their Telecom and Media Services division. Deepak was awarded the Chairman’s Gold Medal at IIM Lucknow and has a B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Kanpur.
