The Tripura government has decided to introduce biometric attendance and a newly built app to ensure timely attendance and track performance of employees and officers of the government.
The app will be directly under the supervision of the newly elected Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb via a tabloid which could be only accessed by him.
The Chief minister, Biplab Kumar Deb and other ministers will also be included in the digital attendance network. Initially, it will be started in the secretariat and subsequently the entire system will be stared in all government institutions. If any employee is late for more then three days in a month then his or her salary will automatically get deducted. The salary accounts of all the employees will also be connected with the app.
“A hi-tech digital network will also be set up at the secretariat to monitor money transactions, including receipt and expenditure of the state government. All these are being done to improve work culture and also minimize corruption in the administration as the chief minister himself will be able to monitor everything”, said Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma.
“The state could have done much better if discipline, punctuality, accountability and intention of doing the best for society were there.” Added the Deputy Chief Minister.
