DoNER Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh to give away Vasundhara North East Woman Entrepreneur of the Year awards on 26 April

Hon’ble Minister of DoNER Dr. Jitendra Singh will give away the Vasundhara NE Woman Entrepreneur of the Year awards to winners on April 26 at the Lakshmipat Singhania Auditorium, PHD Chambers of Commerce & Industry, New Delhi.

The Vasundhara NE Woman Entrepreneur of the Year is Northeast India’s first and one of a kind award and felicitation programme founded in 2012. The award is considered as a benchmark for women entrepreneurs in Northeast India who have reached quantifiable levels of success and excellence by the dint of their hard work and perseverance. Past Vasundhara awardees include Lalmuankimi of Mizoram (2012-13), Moirenthem Muktamani Devi of Manipur (2013-14) and Najitara Bori of Assam (2014-15). The fourth edition of the award programme will see the title award being conferred on two regional awardees for the years 2015-16 and 2016-17.

A huge number of nominations for the awards have been received from across eight states of NE India and the names of the State Awardees for 2015-16 and 2016-17 years will be declared on 15th April. The names of the Title Winners will be declared on 26 April at New Delhi and all the awardees will be honoured and felicitated on that day during a glittering award ceremony to be attended by top industry leaders amongst others.

The organizer Sreemanta Sankar Mission of Guwahati this time is going to honour 5 other women leaders from Northeast India who have done exceptionally well in the field of business and enterprise. These 5 women leaders have been nominated for the Vasundhara Hall of Fame 2018 award. The awardees are Babita Baruah, Managing Partner, GTB India, (WPP Group) and Krishna Sarmah, Corporate Law Group from Assam, Ng Bimolata Devi and Chirom Indira from Manipur and both working in the handloom and handicrafts sector and Jesmina Zeliang from Nagaland who is working in the handicrafts sector and are all known in the international level for their business excellence.

The Vasundhara NE Women Entrepreneur’s Conclave 2018, organized for the first time in New Delhi on April 25 & 26 to be inaugurated by Shri Ram Muivah, Secretary, North Eastern Council seeks to connect women business leaders from across the eight states of Northeast India to a larger network of stakeholders and organizations which can extend support in terms of business mentoring and handholding support, finance, technical knowhow and market linkages among other areas of business interest. Organised by Sreemanta Sankar Mission of Guwahati, the Conclave is partnered by the PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry and supported by the Ministry of DoNER and the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship.
