Mizoram, Assam, Meghalaya win in Subroto Cup

Mizoram, Meghalaya, and Assam registered wins in their respective matches at the Under-17 (Junior Girls) of the 58th Subroto Cup Football Tournament at the Dr Ambedkar Stadium here today.

Meghalaya’s Umtli Secondary High School came from behind to beat Government Girls Higher Secondary School from Tamil Nadu with the girls from the North East proving a few notches better in execution which helped them win 4-1.

Continuing the North East dominance, Dakshin Mazbat High School from Assam defeated St Xavier’s Higher Secondary School 3-0 with little resistance coming from the Goan side.

In the afternoon match at Ambedkar Stadium, the girls from Mizoram easily beat the team from the Kabul school 2-0.

In other matches, the girls from Bhiwani’s Government Senior Secondary School made a statement with another convincing 7-0 victory over Mata Rukmini Higher Secondary School from Chhattisgarh.

In the last match, the girls from Bangladesh had a fine grip over the proceedings right from the start as they beat Modern School of Delhi 4-0.
