Romantic Getaway

Life gets busier by the day and there is lesser tine for romance or even a quiet little time between you and your beloved. But a quiet vacation could just be the perfect way to rekindle the love and warmth.  There are numerous places in the north east where you could also spend a laid back weekend with a special someone.  Here are five romantic getaways.

Majuli

Majuli

Majuli is the largest riverine island of the world, just about 20 kms from Jorhat. If you are looking for that ideal place that would be away from the hustle and bustle of cities and a pollution free time to yourselves, Majuli would be your place. The natural beauty of this island will leave you awestruck. Though Majuli almost has a legendary stature, it remains unspoilt. The Satras or monasteries like Daksinpath, Garamur and Auniati are places to watch out for.  Then there are the mask making workshops. The place is surrounded by lush bamboo trees and warm people.  There are various circuit houses and lodges that you could choose from for your stay on the island.

Dzukou valley

Dzukou valley

A sense of calmness sets in as one watches the Dzukou valley in Nagaland. The best time to visit Dzukou valley is between June and July. It is a perfect destination for a honeymoon or just a little romantic holiday.  Dzukou Valley is situated 25 kms away from Kohima at an elevation of 2,462m. During summer and monsoons the entire valley is full of rhododendrons of different colours, lilies and hundreds of other flowers. You could drive from Kohima to Seikhakie and trek to Dzukou Valley. The effort of trekking to the destination will be rewarding and serenity and calmness would set in.

Ziro Valley

Ziro Valley
Ziro, one of the most beautiful hill stations in Arunachal Pradesh.  Located at an altitude of 1688 meters above the sea level, this could be your perfect summer getaway and together you could fight stress. Ziro Putu, Dolo Mando, Dilopolyang Maniipolyang, Talley Valley and Kile Pakho are the major attractions of Ziro Valley. Then there are bamboo and pine groves and paddy fields and of course flowers. The greenery and calm of the valley are things you would take away with you.

Jampui Hills

Jampui Hills

Situated around 230 kms away from Agartala, Jampui Hills offers you serenity and a view of beautiful lakes and greenery. A boat ride in Dumboor Lake with a beloved is a moment to cherish.  You could choose a home stay and even try local cuisine. The orange orchards and the view of the setting sun will add to your collection of romantic postcards for your album.

Lachen

Lachen
