North East India is known for its magical beauty, bewildering diversity and religious tourism places such as Kamakhya Temple, Malinithan Temple, Sundari Temple and Kirateshwar Mahadev Temple.

Here is the list of most famous temples of seven sister states along with Madan Kamdev Temple,Shiva Rock Temple Unakoti, Sivasagar Sivadol of Assam and Siddheswar Dham in Sikkim.

Kamakhya Temple, Assam

The Kamakhya Temple also Kamrup-Kamakhya is a Hindu temple dedicated to the mother goddess Kamakhya. It is one of the oldest of the 51 Shakti Pithas.

Situated on the Nilachal Hill in western part of Guwahati city in Assam, India, it is the main temple in a complex of individual temples dedicated to the ten Mahavidyas: Kali, Tara, Sodashi, Bhuvaneshwari, Bhairavi, Chhinnamasta, Dhumavati, Bagalamukhi, Matangi and Kamala.

Among these, Tripurasundari, Matangi and Kamala reside inside the main temple whereas the other seven reside in individual temples.

It is an important pilgrimage destination for general Hindu and especially for Tantric worshipers.

Govindajee Temple, Manipur

Shree Govindajee Temple is the largest Hindu, Vaishnav temple in Imphal city in Manipur. It is located next to the palace of the former rulers of the then Manipur Kingdom.

The temple is simple in design with two gold plated domes, a paved court and a large, raised mantapa or congregation hall. The central chamber of the garbhagriha (sanctum sanctorum) has the main deity of Govindaji, stated to be the incarnation of Lord Krishna, and his consort Radha.

Nartiang Durga Temple, Meghalaya

It is a 500-year-old Durga Temple located in the West Jaintia Hills district of Meghalaya, a state in North-Eastern India. Being one of the 51 Shakti Peethas of Hindu Mythology, this temple is one of the holiest sites for devotees of the Shakti sect of Hinduism.

Dimapur Kalibari, Nagaland

Dimapur Kalibari is a Hindu temple dedicated to the Goddess Kali in the town of Dimapur in Nagaland state of India. The temple was built in 1956.

Its 50th anniversary was celebrated in 2006 with the launch of various community services like ambulance service and a library.

Kirateshwar Mahadev Temple, Sikkim

Kirateshwar Mahadev Temple is a Hindu temple, identified to be a Hindu pilgrimage site which is located at Legship, West Sikkim, India along the banks of River Rangeet which has many mythological episodes of the Mahabharata attached to it.

The temple is also known as Kirateshwar Mahadev Thaan by the Kirati people or simply known as Shiv Mandir.

Om Temple Aizawl, Mizoram

Om Temple of Aizawl is one of the Hindu temple in the state, located at Thuampui area of Mizoram. Kolasib shiva temple is another most famous Hindu temple in Mizoram. Aizawl, Mizoram is constructed by a non-denominational church, known in Mizo language as Kohhran Thianghlim which is rendered 'The Holy Church' in English.

The church was founded by Dr. L.B. Sailo in 1984 and the members are known as 'the elects.' Their mission is to proclaim and disseminate the word of God throughout the world, particularly to the Mizo people through written and spoken means of communication, and they are constructing Solomon's Temple as a symbol of their love of Jesus Christ.
