Since VVPATs will be used in Tripura for the first time, a massive awareness campaign will soon be launched for all the voters in the state.
Addressing a Press conference on Tuesday Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Tripura Sriram Taranikanta said that the state will require 4000 VVPATs to conduct the ensuing assembly election next year and VVPATs will be coming up very shortly.
Around 300 VVPATs will be kept for providing training and showing demonstration for awareness of voters.
He said that the election department has decided to sensitize the voters of the state about VVPATs through live demonstration, video projection, and giving leaflets.
The first phase of training programme has already completed and the next phase of the training will start from December 11, he added.
The CEO also informed that approximately 80,000 form-6 have been received during the summary revision of the electoral rolls while 25,000 form-7 have been submitted for disposal during the ongoing special revision of photo electoral rolls.
The final voters list is scheduled to be published on January 5, 2018.
