Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Tuesday visited AIIMS in the national capital to enquire about the health of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, admitted there on June 11 with a kidney tract infection and other health ailments, an official said.
The Chief Minister also, on behalf of the 37 lakh people of Tripura, extended sincere wishes for the speedy recovery of the veteran leader, said an official of the CM's office in Agartala.
According to the official said that in the national capital, Deb would meet Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and other Union Ministers to discuss various issues of Tripura.
"Deb would discuss the Reang tribal refugees' repatriation to Mizoram with the Union Home Minister," the official added.
About 32,857 Reang tribals comprising 5,413 families - locally known as 'Bru' -- have been living in the six makeshift camps in north Tripura's Kanchanpur and Panisagar sub-divisions, adjoining Mizoram, since October 1997 after they fled their homes in western Mizoram following ethnic strife.
